Announcing New Medical Education Initiative!

Big news! OMF is excited to announce that with restricted grants from several generous donors specifically for Medical Education, we will be launching a Medical Education program. This program aims to increase access to knowledgeable clinicians and improve patient care around the globe!

To begin this initiative, we are helping to support the Bateman Horne Center as they launch their upcoming “Long COVID and Post-Viral Syndromes ECHO program” on April 19, 2022.

How Will This ECHO Program Work?

Bateman Horne Center is partnering with the University of Utah Health to conduct a Long COVID and Post-Viral Syndromes ECHO.  Project ECHO utilizes case-based learning with short lectures to enable medical providers to learn about the current best practices and management of patients with PASC (Long COVID) and Post-Viral Syndromes.

Lucinda Bateman, MD, Brayden Yellman, MD, and Jeanette Brown, MD will be the lead mentors for this ECHO series.

Why Is This Critically Important?

Ten to thirty percent of people infected with COVID-19 will develop Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC), also known as Long COVID. Therefore, it is critical to equip healthcare professionals with knowledge and tools to diagnose and manage the care of post-viral syndromes.

This ECHO program provides a unique opportunity to create a network of knowledge among the healthcare community to afford earlier interventions and improved care for patients with Long COVID and ME/CFS.

*Please note: The live program is reserved for healthcare professionals only. Lectures will be recorded, and when available, they will be made public for people to share with their clinicians.

Stay tuned for more information on our Medical Education project rollout!
